Tuner Rings

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all,

I just recently attached a fender jazz neck to a precision body. I got the neck and the body for a good deal, but it did not come with tuners. I ordered some off of Stew-Mac (the standard ones) and stupidly did not check the radius of the ring that fits inside the hole. The one I ordered is just barely too small, as it does not quite fit snugly like I think it should.

As far as I know, the point of these rings is to be snug with the neck. Would it be possible to epoxy the ring in? What if I used a small ring on the side to eat up that space? How critical is it?

I don't lnow exactly what kind of neck it is, as it has been painted over. The back has the little silver 60th anniversary medallion on it and it was MIM. I am not sure where I could find replacement tuners for this specific model.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Joe

Get some foil tape, the kind used to seal heating ducts. Available at any hardware. Now I don't mean fabric duct tape! Aluminum foil! Wrap a strip around the ring til its a snug fit. Press em in and go!
