Tuner Sizing

Hey guys (and possible gals) i need some help with new tuners id like to buy. Im going with hipshot ultralites but i dont know how to tell what size to get. Theres 1/2 and 3/8.

Yeah, i would do that if i knew what i was supposed to measure.

In case you didnt notice i made this thread because i dont know how the sizing works.

Measure the diameter of the hole in the headstock.

3/8" Hipshots fit a 9/16" hole. 1/2" Hipshots fit a 11/16" hole.

There is no 3/4" Hipshot.

Ill take advantage of the thread and ask, is there any difference between smaller and bigger tuners? Apart from the weight savings, I mean.

You get what you pay for in tuners. Quality tuners wont slip and adjust easily. Cheap ones not always.

Did that and it didnt corrospond to the size mentioned on the site for the tuners.

Thanks, thats what i needed. The 3/4 was a typo on my part.

No advantage between different sizes, its really just weight and look. Higher quality just means theyll stay in tune better but again that doesnt have to do with the size.
