Tuner Wax? For Stiff Tuners

Sign in to disble this ad
I've got a Fender AV '62 Precision Bass with Vintage Reverse tuners that are a little stiff. If I remember correctly, I once saw a Dan Erlewine video were he was working on an old P bass and said he used wax on the tuners to get them to turn smoother.

Anybody ever heard of this? If I was to try it, what type of wax would I be looking for? Any info appreciated!

Were I to try this, I'd either use graphite (a longer lasting lube) or good old paraffin wax used for canning.
