which tuners?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,

i recently got a replacement neck from fender(super awesome of them). The local dealer here which is also setting it up for me says the neck comes with standard machine heads(those big vintage looking ones) instead of the mini gotoh tuner that i have on my current neck.

will it be a good idea to transfer the gotoh to the new neck or just stick with the fender type of tuners?

Do you have a pic of the back of the headstock?

There's not a significant weight difference between the Gotoh tuners and the Fender tuners, so they shouldn't attribute to any extra neck dive (unless of course your old bass had a smaller headstock, in which case the Fender headstock could throw it off). For the most part, it comes down to aesthetic. Do you like the Gotoh style better? Why not just transfer them from your last neck onto the new one?
