Tuners that fit a mighty mite p-bass neck?

Sign in to disble this ad
I am doing a squier affinity p-bass mod project. In replacing my old squier neck with a mighty mite one I noticed that the MIM tuners that I bought to use are slightly to large to fit.

Is it possible to sand the holes wide enough for the tuners to fit or should just get new tuners? If so can anyone recommend a drop in replacement tuners that fits MM p-bass necks.

Thanks

By "slightly" do you mean 1/8" too large, or just a cat hair?

I would have bet that Mighty Mites would be drop-in Fender size.

Measure the holes. The choices are 11/16 (Fender size) and 9/16 (Ibby size).

As far as replacement tuners, I've fallen in love with Hip Shot Ultralites. You can get them in either size.

Not sure what you mean by 1/8, but the metal part that is inserted in the holes are just is too large. Meaning the holes are 0.2 or 0.3 cm to small for the tuners.

MM necks are meant for standard fender sized tuners. however IME they make a bit small on purpose to accomindate some room just in case. if i were you, id be more worried about the neck pocket and how the neck fits at the heel.
