Tuners for a Jazz Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
I bought these tuners and they came in the mail today. Unfortunately, they are too small, the bushings slide right though the peg hole. Can someone help me find tuners that will definitely fit in the peg holes but cost about the same. I would get some hipshot tuners or something, but I can't drop 80-100 bucks on tuning keys.

Thanks

What did you buy? I only know of 2 tuning peg sizes... 9/16in and 11/16in. I'm guessing you got 9/16th inch pegs and have 11/16th inch holes. Measure the hole diameter to make sure, though and look for tuners with that diameter peg.

if its just the bushings you can always use some electrical tape to make up the difference. The bushings for Japan and US Fender basses have slightly more diam than the mexican standard and squier basses.

Call the vendor. I had the exact same issue with one tuner, and the guys at BestBassGear.com & hipshot took care of the issue, free of charge.

I believe you can get black Schallers (open back which I like better) with the 9/16" (traditional whole size) for $70 from Warmoth,

Call those guys and let them know what you have they can help you they know their stuff.

Ask for Dan He is the bass geek over there and can tell you exactly what you need.

Am Dlx Jbass

Gentlemen,
How 'bout Am Dlx Jbass? what's the size of the holes? coz i'm planning to replace 'em with the black ones. And I'm having a hard time to find a bass + treble stacked knob, coz my one is loose.. emailed guitarpartsresource, but they never reply me back.
