Which Tuners will be a bolt on replacement for MIJ Necks?

Will these fit

on this neck?

It looks like they will, but not sure.

Any advice would be great.

The bass neck pictured is a from 70's RI MIJ bass, and the tuners are listed as Shaller TK 0791-001 from BassPartsResource.com

I went through this and got by on dumb luck. I bought a 70's RI MIJ P-bass neck with no tuners. I was replacing a clapped-out '69 p-bass neck with a hump, bad fret sprout, a poor refret job, and very little truss rod left.

I tried everywhere to find info on tuners that would fit. I had stupidly passed up any number of identical '70 RI necks on ebay with tuners. BTW-they have ALL disappeared---for the last 6 months, nothing!!!!

I got desperate. I took one of the vintage tuners off of the '69 and it fit the MIJ 70s RI P-bass neck perfectly! Duhhhhh! Three possible reasons:

1) My '69 neck is counterfeit, (somewhat possible) and is really MIJ.
2) My '69 neck is MIA Fender, but was modified to accept MIJ tuners, and so they fit (these tuners are old and pretty trashed, so I doubt this).
3) '70s RI MIJ P-bass necks accept the same size tuners as '69 P-basses. I think this is so. I believe the tuners I used are vintage tuners, and are the same size as most MIA fender tuners.

When I asked, the big "part-out mij basses" ebay emporium in Boston from which I bought the '70s RI MIJ neck, said to me:

"We don't know if regular MIA fender tuners will fit the '70s RI MIJ P-bass neck you bought from us, and we really are pretty sure that '62 RI MIJ P-bass tuners will NOT fit. In fact, we think the only safe bet is '70s RI MIJ P-bass tuners, which we don't have, and don't anticipate ever having again. Have a nice day."

So, I just got really lucky. My final advice: Find a good shop that is an authorized fender repair center, and beg them for help. Good Luck!!!!

Plenty of insight here:

1. reliablefender was the dealer. He's no longer selling them because he can no longer get the instruments from Japan to part out, and these are killer necks. I have one.

2. No, your neck isn't necessarilly counterfeit. The reissue tuners were made to be the same size as the original 70's tuners. Full size Schallers, vintage Fender tuners, Hipshot HB-2's are all the same size and fit perfectly. I use the Hipshots on my RI neck.

3. It's a hell of a neck.

Oops, thanks for the replies. The neck I posted is actually 57RI (not sure why I said 70 RI...)

I don't actually own the neck, and probably won't at this point (slight change of plans). However, the neck was actually listed on ebay by the seller mentioned above.

Thanks again for the replies.
