Tuners for my Cirrus?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a Cirrus 4-string I love- I just took it out to practice, and I noticed the 'ear' on the E string tuner was broken off. Does anyone have a suggestion as to a good replacement tuner? I'm assuming I go with a whole set of four- they're gold( I think all Cirrus tuners are...)- is there an upgraded set I could get? Thanks a lot.

Broken off? Do you mean the screw is sheared off or just plain missing? I have an authentic, somewhat cannibalized, Peavey Cirrus gold tuner body (complete with "Y" button) that you may have. If you'd like to upgrade, I'd go with the Hipshot Ultralites like this:

If going with a repair of the existing tuner, please send me some detailed pics.

Thanks

Riis

Absolutely. I'm just trying to determine what parts are needed as I may have cast-offs in my junk drawer...."ears", washers, mounting screw, etc. I have a hunch some components may be missing-in-action.

Thanks a lot-sorry I wasn't more specific. The 'ear' is on the string side of the headstock-one of the raised pieces where the string goes through the tuner shaft. I think I'll probably just replace them with new, but thanks a lot for the offer to help 'part' my old one. You like the Hipshots? They look more substantial than the stock ones.

Well, the offer still stands but the Hipshots are an excellent choice as you can see in my pic. Very sturdy and Hipshot provides top-shelf customer support.

PM me.. I have a bag of these...

-----

I own basses with both the commodity gotoh type and hipshot... not quite convinced there's anything beyond snob appeal difference.

I'd stick with the commodity.
