Tuners question.

I'm kicking around the idea of doing a re-creation of this bass.


First, I don't want to use Hipshots or Schallers. They are far too pricey, and I'm trying to keep this project under a certain price point.

Looking around, I have the following ideas.
These

Gotoh:

They have regular tuner and a "straight" tuner. What does that mean?

Any opinions, good, bad, or ugly are very much appreciated.

The Gotoh's look like they would fit the bill if the hole size works out. GB7's seem to be the standard size, have seen the TK's listed as mini. Classic project - I like!

My question is, the Gotoh's, Grover's,a nd regular Wilkinsons look so similar. Any differences?
