Tuners / Tuning machines problem

Hey I'm trying a couple of experiments, is there any way I can get these rings out of the headstock? They seem to be really stuck in there. Do I just keep trying to push them out, or is it more permanent than that?

I just take a socket from a socket-wrench that is slightly smaller than the hole, and tap it out from the back.

Hi.

Better yet, find another socket too that is large enough to go over the front side of the ferrule and use a C-clamp to drive it free with the two sockets.

Regards
Sam
