|  | Registered User | | Join Date: Dec 2002 Location: Virginia Beach, VA | | | The stuff you see on the shelf (both Tung oil and Tru-Birch) are hybrid mixtures containing tung oil, linseed oil, and Lord-knows-what-else. Its my understanding that pure tung oil is unsuitable as it becomes brittle and unworkable. I've used Casey's Tru-Birch on unfinished and oil-finished components. I especially like the results when working Warwick all-wenge necks.
