The stuff you see on the shelf (both Tung oil and Tru-Birch) are hybrid mixtures containing tung oil, linseed oil, and Lord-knows-what-else. Its my understanding that pure tung oil is unsuitable as it becomes brittle and unworkable. I've used Casey's Tru-Birch on unfinished and oil-finished components. I especially like the results when working Warwick all-wenge necks.

I used Birchwood Casey Tru-Oil on a rifle stock in 1964, it has never been re-coated and still has a nice finish.

Tru-Oil is my favorite neck finish.

I've been using some "Lee Valley 100% Pure Tung Oil".

I've never seen or heard of "Tru-Birch" what is it?

I also get my Tru-Oil at sporting goods/gun stores.

Yes, I know, I've restocked quite a few rifles. Still never heard of Tru-Birch.

I did a neck about 5 years ago with Tru-Oil and it was awesome. And I found it at Wal-Mart. )-(

I'm dyslexic...what can I say? Sorry for the confusion. I know it when I see it. I think I got "Bass Pro Shoppes" correct.
