Question Tuning to BEABG--will it mess up my truss rod?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm not sure which forum to put this in.

I have a Stingray 5 HH. All I did was drop the D string to B. So my strings were BEABG (B E A B G). I'm just wondering if this will mess up my truss rod or affect my neck or the intonation of the other strings. Does anyone know? I'm doing some experimentation because the guitarist I play with has his guitar tuned to an open B chord. I want to be able to play on the high B string and then go to the low B string to add power.

I just stopped playing so I tuned it back to B E A D G before I put it in the case.

It shouldn't do anything. People play around with tunings all the time.
