Tuning down and back up. What adjustments are needed, if any?

One band I play with tunes to standard. A new band I just joined tunes down a half-step (Eb-Ab-Db-Gb). When tuning from one tuning to another on a regular basis, should I expect to make set-up adjustments? I mean, I prefer a low-action set-up, but does going from a half-step tuning really make that much difference?

I haven't noticed too much difference yet, but I just started doing this.

What should I expect? Thank you!

Just turn the tuners. No other adjustment needed.

Unless you like an extremely low action I can't see any issues. Maybe split the difference & set up tuned midway between, if it's an issue.

But if you want a good excuse to get another bass then yes, the setup is completely different & you must get another bass!!

Well, when i tune down into drop C (CGCF) my neck on my little ibanez does tend to give a little less relief because the strings are not pulling on it as hard as they are in standard tuning. So while you are just a half step down, i doubt you will see any difference. Maybe very very slightly less releif and a little bit more buzz but that will be about it. You can just take away the buzz by turning down the treble on your amp and it should be good

You could always keep it tuned to Eb, and then use a capo, or just adjust your playing.

Since your action is low, just pay extra attention to your technique when you tune down. The strings will have less tension, but it can be compensated for with your hands.
