Tuning pegs lifting out?

Sign in to disble this ad
I finally got this bass out of the case and have been playing with it for awhile, however I've noticed some of the tuning pegs seem to be lifting out of the body. How can I fix this?

Hi.

Fortunately it's just the ferrules/bushings that are lifting, not the shafts.

A drop of CA glue and a gentle tap with a proper size socket and a hammer will prevent that from happening again.

Regards

So I should actually use force to get them back in? I can't push them in by hand, and I didn't want to possibly break anything.

If they were in there once, it won't hurt to force them back in place. If they never had been inserted, you might crack the wood by forcing them - but that's not the case here.

my squier has exhibited the same thing (only flaw with the bass, and it's not serious)...

in my case, they didn't "pull out"...they won't go in...holes are too small...

I was considering pressing them in. but I'd really need a good vise and some cauls to do it safely...

I could take it to work on a weekend, but who's got time on weekends?

I'm not all that concerned about it, really
