tutorials on how to adjust a bass? action, etc?

Sign in to disble this ad
Anybody know of any site tutorials on how to adjust a bass's action, etc?

I am still a relative noob to this .. havn't touched my bass except to tune it when I brought it home .. I'm noticing a lot of fret buzz coming out of my e string and the height of the strings seems kind of off to me. This is what is referred to as action right?

What are some sites out there to help me out?

This site. Go into the Setup&Repair forum and look at the sticky posts on top for guides.

Good setup guide here:

http://garywillis.com/pages/bass/bas...tupmanual.html

Some of it's specific to the GWB model, but the basics of adjusting neck relief and action are universal.

Dood,
Check out jimleemusic.com. He has a set-up tutorial that you can purchase as a file.

http://www.fender.com/support/setup/basssetup.php

This is a Fender site, but it works for any bass. It's got more detail than the Willis site.
