Squier Precision...been a super great bass, but now its doing this thing to where it'll crackle while Im playing...figiting with the cord going into the input (on bass) temp helps. Itll crackle, then either the volume will go WAY down, or just go dead (no sound at all). Ive "messed" around with the input jack, squeezing, checking the connections, ect...what could it be? (BTW I tried the cord/amp on another bass and no prob, the prob is def in the bass). Is it time to upgrade my electronics? (BTW again, I love this bass and have done several ugrades already including bridge, p/g, tuners, ect. so I dont mine spending money on this lower end, yet fun and faithful bass ). TIA.

dont worry man, u have a good bass. im guessing the input jack needs to be saudered. unscrew it and check the wires. im no tech or nething but there should be a wire saudered to the metal. check that out first cause i had the same problem. to avoid it from happening again, try not to turn the patch cord while its in there and put ur patch through your strap to keep it set. good luck...

Nevermind, got it!

Fixed it (it was grounding out on a screw that I had to drill to accomodate a new p/g...long story), but its fixed. Thanx!
