THE ULTIMATE Ric bridge replacement poll

Hails and sails ladies and germs. I'm thinking of tenatively buying a Hipshot replacement bridge for my 4003 and want to hear opinions. I've heard ones as varied as "yeah, it rules" to "if I dig in, the saddles wobble side-to-side."

So please, indulge me. Thanks muchly.

Carrots.

Advantages: palm muting (ahhhhh... so good with the Ric, because I never been able to do it before!); much easier intonation.

Disadvantages: saddles slide around and may rattle (yes they do; there is not 'enough' downward pressure on the saddles, I think due to the long distance back to the string holes); may not adjust low enough depending on the rest of your setup.

I've thought about it for my Rick, but I don't want to change it. I like the vintage bridge, personally, and with the way that the saddles might possibly rattle or move, I wouldn't want that to affect my sound.

The Rick bridge is a bitch to intonate, but you really only have to do it once every few months. I imagine that with the hipshot replacement it would have to be more frequent.

I bought one, installed it, then after a week took it back off. It's probably psychological but I like the way my Rick sounds with the older stock crappy bridge...
Wanna buy mine? It's chrome plated brass

No mute! Even though my Rick's mute is sometimes a pain in the butt (like when it won't disengage enough causing me to keep loosening the screw until it comes out of the threading and I have to take the bridge off to reset it).

But I still think the built in mute is cool.
