unstable notes above upper frets squier mod 77

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,

Yesterday I tried Squier mod 77 and 70 jazz basses. I noticed that when fretting a note on the g string or high d string there was a "wobble/wave" to the note almost as if a chorus pedal was on? The sound is similar to when you are tuning to a tuner and the note is slightly off.

I really liked the bass but was wondering if this problem is fixable before I purchase it?

Thanks.

Could be a twisted string. Try loosening up the string, pulling it straight from the nut all the way back to the ball-end in the bridge, and then re-tightening.

Never noticed anything like that on mine. Odd.

One of the pickups is too close to the string causing the false vibrations.
