unstring bass or not?

I recently bought a bass online and was wondering if i should have them unstring my bass before they ship it to me because of the altitude and pressure.

Not at all...If anything, you want it to be normal. That way it doesn't have that much to go to acclimate to your surroundings.

Do NOT have them take the strings off. It could seriously impact your neck.
