Just to possibly prevent days of aggravation for others ...
My Godin BG4 is a well made, beautiful bass. But suddenly I started getting a weird buzz, especially when playing notes on the D and G strings ... first I thought is was coming from the saddles, but then I realized it was coming from the cover in the back for the active electronics. The bass has a tonne of resonance so then I thought maybe the vibrations were literally shaking the screws loose (lol ... or I had a screw loose).
The first time I opened up the back, I saw nothing amiss. The second time though, I realized the little circuit board in there was glued to the top of cavity and held in place with velcro. What happened was it became unglued and was just dangling inside the cavity vibrating against the cover when I played ... never affected the sound when plugged into an amp .. just very frustrating until I figured it out! A bit a mounting tape made to hold up to 11 pounds should keep it place for awhile ...
