I WOULD LIKE TO GET HIPSHOT TUNERS FOR A SQUIER PROJECT I AM WORKING ON. MY QUESTION WILL FENDER STANDARD ONES SWAP RIGHT OUT. TO ME THE MIM ONES APPEAR TO BE AN EXACT MATCH.

Typing in all-capital letters means you're yelling, in internet communication, so a lot of people who see this post may disregard it.

To try and answer your questions, Fender uses both 1/2" tuner shaft hole sizes and also... 3/8", generally (please correct me if I'm wrong, someone!) Measure the diameter of your tuners, and order replacements accordingly! Shouldn't be too bad!

sorry for the all caps. i was not aware of the way this works. i was not refering to the pin diameter (this i know), more so the screw pattern on the back of the headstock. again sorry for the confusion.

The Squire Affinity basses I've been messing with in the past have 4 screws on the tuners, but only two actually go into the wood. If you've got a less-cheap Squire, I guess I'm no good for any more info

No problem on the caps!

They should be a drop-in replacement. If they don't fit exactly, it only takes a few minutes to line up the tuners and drill a few small pilot holes.

And do not try to install tuner screw without drilling pilot holes. The wood is so hard that the screws will almost certainly break off.

Make sure to buy the HB7 style HipShots.
They are made for MIM Fender basses.
I just put some on my old Squier Series bass, no new holes necessary.
