USA jazz bass 5 replacement bridge?

I'm thinking of replacing my bridge on my usa jazz bass 5 string,it does have string-thru,but i'm not too botherd about that as iv'e been using it top loaded anyway,can someone who has replaced the bridge on a 5 string give me some advice as to which bridge/bridges i should look at?and which one they chose,thanks.

the stock bridge is excellent, there's no reason to replace it.

Is it a 2008 or later with the newest design of bridge?

If yes, then there is nothing out there any better.

If no, you should consider the new Fender if it is available as a part. (I know the 4 string version is)

Let me know how that helps. I love my 03 and use the string thru, but if I can improve anything with that bridge, I'm gonna get one.

i dunno, the earlier versions with the grey steel saddles were every bit as good, and in some ways better. the saddles had finer grooves, so you could get the string spacing exactly right. the later versions with the overly large grooves force you to compromise on that.

Hipshot makes a nice A style bridge that drops right in....no extra drilling.
I put this on my Jazz V Deluxe and it really helped with staying in tune when you're digging in....to my ears it cleared up the high end a bit too.

Careful to pay attention to the number of mounting holes....this one has 4 I believe.
