Vantage 3 point bridge trouble PLEASE HELP

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello all. I am pretty new here. I have played guitar for 25 years. I enjoy the bass lately. I own a vantage vs 600b.
It has the 3 point bridge which is recessed a bit into the body of the bass. Well my bridge is bent. I tried to straighten it ,but, it just bends back with time. Does anybody know if the common 3 11/32" stud spaced bridges will fit? I can not find any 2 websites that can even agree on how to measure the stud spacing. Center to center looks good but some people say it is measured from outside to outside of the stud.
I have read that the 3 point bridge is not the best design but I do like the way it looks on my bass. I know this happens to these old bridges a lot. I love this guitar but am getting very frustrated,ANY help would be great

I just rebuilt my Vantage 710b (I'm pretty sure it's one of the motsumoku factory ones) neck thru bass. Among other incredibly bad mods (*cough* blue spray paint *cough*) someone had bent the bridge very badly. The first bridge I tried was an epiphone 3 point and it fit right in. I had to shim the stud holes in the bass because the bent bridge had knocked the holes out of round, but the end result is quite nice, and sounded decent even on the inexpensive pickups it came with. Now I'm just waiting for my custom wound pickups to arrive and it should be incredible.
