VINYL: Not just for records!

I was inspired by Denny, the Reigning King of Vinyl Inlays, to buy a couple sets from Jockomo (sp?). Well, I just finally put a set on. It's a project bass, it has a plastic fingerboard, so I said what the heck? Let's try it:

I just free-formed it. I'd have done much better to have some kind of centering system (as simple as lining up some wax pencil marks), but they look good enough for my $6.50 and 10 minutes.

And no, you don't feel them at all while playing.

They do look good. Wonder if they'll hold up though.

Looks ok. Only time will tell what they look like after awhile of strings on them. Platsic fretboard? Yuck. But is inepensive project bass which you have so Id say is good for whatever experiements. Lol.

By plastic, I mean it's phenolic resin. The bass has a graphite neck.
I do have my doubts for longevity of the vinyl stickers, but they are dirt cheap and even if they look cool for only a year... it's not that bad to lose them or replace them at that price.

But feel free to consult with MasterBass! (Denny) about how they last... he's the king!

ill post a picture of my squer/fender with vinyl stickers a denny influence ..i asked him about his bass with the decals, i thought they were real at first ...it was a little scary putting them on and centering them which was a little nerve wrecking for me, i still think its just a little off but u cant really tell. pictures coming ...

O ok, plastic made me think of the first guitar my parents got me as a kid, plastic fretboard, and body and neck, yuck, horrid thing it was, but played it till I could buy my own proper guitar. Lol.

Squier Jazz Vinyl

Vinyl inlays, Warwick pre-amp,black tunning pegs,Bartolini jazz pick ups, fender jazz waterslide that looks good from a few inches away, the inlays are slighly crooked but its not too bad looking!
