Exclamation VOLUME TROUBLE (send help)

Sign in to disble this ad

Hello good people of talkbass! i have dilema:

i just got a bass starter pack with the tuner, amp, guitar, cable, the works. its a nice (and very light) new squire. when i first plugged it in to the amp, nothing. i rolled the guitar's volume and tone to max, nothing. finally, i rolled the amps volume (and all EQ's) to max. I heard it! it was VEEERY quiet however... so quiet that the feedback was louder... that's REALLY bad.. then, to see it it was the amp's problem, i plugged my new bass guitar into my other amp. i rolled the volume up to 12 or 1 o'clock and heard it fine (with a little much feedback). i then plugged my six string guitar into it and nearly blew my ears off. my bass i quiet. how the HECK do ya fix that?? right out of the box. (it has been professionally set up at the music store i bought it from. i bet it is something painfully obvious and i just dont realize it. if anyone has ANY idea, please post, cause i dont wanna have to return it right after i got it (and opened everything, lol). this bass NEEDS to be LOUD cause ill be playing it in my school's marching band.. SEND HELP!

I presume you swapped cables.

Other than that, it isolates to the bass. Take it back to the store & have them get it to work or exchange it for one that works.
