Warmoth Body / Hipshot bridge problem

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a 3 year old Warmoth body. It came pre-drilled with 5 holes for mounting the bridge.

I just received a fine Hipshot A bridge that has 4 holes - and these holes, in no way, line up with the holes in the my warmoth body - and in one case is so close that I couldn't drill a new hole without slipping into the old one...

I'm thinking I'll have to buy some dowel and fill the existing holes and then drill my new ones. Does this sound right to you folks?

I would suck up my pride and find a bridge with 5 holes, like a Gotoh 201 or a BAII. I've doweled out screw holes for bridges before, and it's messy, scary work.

I did it with matchsticks and glued them in place. Not the best solution but if the screw is tight next to it there's no worry about it letting loose or something.

yes, but I've already spent the $$ on the bridge I have...

BTW: Hipshot has emailed me directly - - it seems they make this bridge in a 3 hole version (that lines up with the 3 of the 5 holes) that I should have orderd. I'm working out a swap-out with BestBassGear, who has been totally cool to deal with to this point.
