Cool Warmoth body on older neck

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi there good people!!

I have a 4-string Fender '76 J-bass which has a refinished body. I've been looking for new bodies, and came over this one:

Would I be able to use all the hardware on my old bass on this? Would a '76 neck snap into the socket?

Thanks!!

Does your bass have the 3 bolt or 4 bolt neck? (Pretty sure it'd be 3, but I'm a P-bass guy)

I'm going to have to assume it's a 3-bolt. And I see that the body is 4-bolt now. So is it possible to just drill some holes where it is supposed to be on a 4-bolt and put it on?

Anything is possible.
Whether it's a good idea is entirely subjective.
I would say not.

Thanks for your answers. I can see why not, in terms of value. I haven't got my bass with me unfortunatly, I'm away for the holiday. But, if I recall correctly, it does have some holes along with the standard 3. It may have already been altered, so in that case it shouldn't be any problem. I love the neck so I probably won't ever sell it either. Is there anything I should watch out for drilling two new holes?
