Warwick change from Gotoh GB7 to Warwick knockoffs

I couldn't find any info on the exact year, but my 2000 Thumb BO 6 does have real Gotoh tuners. This saved me some $ when buying a used thumb, as I have had to swap the tuners on any other Warwick I have bought from the late 2000's.

You can tell because the top half of the tuner (the part with the nut) has the threads INSIDE (female) on the Gotoh, and with the Warwick made knockoffs, the threads are visible (male).

The Warwick tuners are notorious for stripping and coming loose.

Anyway - figured I would share and if anyone has info on their specific bass, we could figure out exactly when they downgraded the tuners.

The Warwick tuners are just fine. It's the bushings that are crap. They are one step above plastic and do indeed strip out.

So, I got some brass bushings from a fellow TB'er. Not only do they look awesome, they work much better than the stock bushings.
