Warwick Corvette Std Set-Up

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently bought a used (I believe) 1998 made in Germany Warwick Corvette Std model, active for £350. I've only played and set-up Fender basses in the past so setting up this bad boy was all new to me and frankly, I was abit confused on how to set it up.

After alittle while I understood what everything did and I think i managed to do a decent set-up on the instrument, I got the action quite low and im happy with it apart from one thing that is bugging me major!

When i sight the neck for relief, I see some back-bow on the bass side of the neck ( E and A string side ) more so than the treble side ( D and G string side. ) I've been doing some truss rod adjustments over the past 3-4 days and letting them set in but for some reason the bow on the bass side of the strings will not straighten up. The treble side seems to have more of a reaction to the truss rod adjustments but im not sure.

I kept on tightening the truss rod and hoping it would set the neck pretty much flat-straight. I believe at some point the truss rod was resisting any more tightening so guessing that it was the limit, i didnt want to risk snapping or breaking the truss rod or the neck so i loosened it abit and left it to set.

Am I doing something wrong? or is it normal for necks to be doing this sort of thing? Any help on this subject would be much appreciated!

Oh i also most forgot to mention, is there any chance the neck is warped? (i'm not even 100% sure what that means???)
