Hey all,
this is my first post here..
i've recently bought a very nice 2009 Warwick corvette $$,
after the first string change i wanted to check my bass setup..
i have been fiddling around with the setup for 2 days now and i'm having trouble with lower string specially the (A) where it buzz's after the 7th fret, i've raised the saddle to extremes without really making that huge difference...
i did all the setup on order,, started with truss rod where i left a Credit Card (or 2 business cards or .65mm) space at the 7th fret while pressing down the 1st and the 24th fret... while in standard tune.
then i headed towards the nut where i also left 1 business card space at the 1st fret while holding the 3rd fret.
then i started with the bridge which still confuses me, the relation between the saddles and the radius of the neck.. i tend to lower the saddles till they rest in their bridge pocket.. i raised the A/D strings lightly, then after lowering the bridge itself i raised it to spec (2.5mm on the lower side (E/A strings), and 2.0mm on the higher side (D/G Strings)).
after all i didn't reach a desired effect. i'm afraid that i'm messing it up, maybe i should leave the bass to rest for a couple of days so the neck takes a final relief after all the messing around (also not to forget the place in the truss rod where it turns a couple of times freely if it's normal) my setup of the TR usually comes after i turn beyond this free zone of turning (anti clock wise) and just when it begins to tighten is the setup for me..
sorry for the long write but i felt i needed to share what 've been doing so far,, help help..
Thanks again |
