Lightbulb Warwick neck damage problems.

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently purchase a Warwick Corvette Standard 5 with a chip in the back of the neck under one of the tuners. I guess I should have asked before purchasing, (it was really good deal and I got giddy), but is there any effective method of repair for this kind of damage, short of replacing the neck altogether.
You can see the amateur repair job in the pic. Do you guys think this will hold, or should I (or a pro tech) do something about it?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You can hear a bit of a buzz inside the gear when playing. It's intermittent, and not a huge deal. The neck was repaired before I got the guitar. Makes me think it is anchored super well. Should I get a deeper screw just in case?

I'll take it to Mary's Music around the corner from my house. They seem to be knowledgable enough, but don't really do any repairs. I'll have to go to Nashville for that. This is the quote from the classified ad from where I bought the bass:
"There is a chip on the back of the Guitar head that has been repaired with wood filler, this will not effect the performance but there is a slite rattle." - I am assuming that the gear might be rattling against the neck because it is not anchored properly. I will see for certain in a couple days when it arrives.
