Warwick strap lock

Has anyone had problems with their Warwick strap lock letting go? I mean, the connection between the strap and the pin. It seems like a very small bearings that do the holding, not too secure. I had my bass drop during a gig. Didn't hit the floor but it made me resort to holding the body with my fingers and using my thumb, oldschool.

Anyone?

I have heard this a lot of times. I don't want to judge Warwick on that, but seriously, they are no match to Schallers.

It happened to me, as well. I think the mechanism gets dirt in it and it mixes with the grease on the bearings. Very gunky.
Just switch them with either of the two mentioned above.
Not worth trying to fix.

I thought they were Dunlops.

FWIW, a local tech hates them with a vengeance. He's even gone as far as to remove the recessed strap buttons, plug the holes, and install Schallers.

Question: what gives out first, the strap buttons or the strap-end mechanism?

They're not Dunlops. They're "Dunlopesque".
