WD Music precision Bass parts kit

Sign in to disble this ad
I am about to fulfill a life-long dream of building my own bass. So far I've got a neck. I'm starting simple. Precision Bass. One Pickup, One Volume, One Tone. In my searching I've come across a Kit from WD Music which basically has most of the parts together in a bundle. Pickup and controls pre-wired and fitted to the pickguard, bridge, tuners etc.

http://www.wdmusic.com/p_bass_parts_kit_gold.html

Has anyone used one of these kits before and would you recommend them? I'm on a tight budget so I'm hoping to find as many reasonably priced parts as possible without cutting too much on quality.

Any other advice would also be greatly appreciated

Cheers

James

Go for it! I've built 2 Ps and both are part of my regular rotation. Kent Armstrong makes very good pickups. Although I haven't purchased this kit, buying each of the included parts is about what you would pay individually for them.

hmm. I guess i would stroll over to http://stewmac.com and look at their parts list and pull together a shopping cart of all the parts and see how the price compares. Then you can have a little more control over exactly what you are buying, partwise.

What body and neck do you have?
