Which one did you buy? The American Standard or the other?

When I called them, they wanted a tracing, saying that they didn't know if they would fit. I can do that, but if others have been using one of those two types on their HW-ones, it would save time.

Cheers,
Chris

American Standard fit

Am, Standard fit mine. I think the Hwy One is different in Bridge and that awful finnish. But aside from that the same. Fender could answer you question about pick guards on the 2 basses. They are real nice down there. I am not crazy about my dull finnish but the Abalone guard made it cool.I have a little bulge on the top of the Pick guard just between the 1st screw and second. Not much, I could stash a Pick there.

Thanks!

I would like it if the honey blonde color was a little less beige, but I think all of the other features make it a pretty good bang-for-the-buck bass... The dull finish doesn't really bother me.

A slight bulge wouldn't bother me. Even if I sent in an exact tracing, a guard could come back just slightly off. I'm not that anal.

Cheers,
Chris

Just ordered a thin black guard to go on my honey-blond HW-one...

Can't wait!

Well... Just for an update, I received the pickguard and installed it tonight. It fit pretty well. One hole was slightly off, but close enough that the screw fit with a slight gap. No biggie. Looks great.

Here's the Highway One set up for our Clash tribute band...
