Weight saving tactics - tuners and bridges

Sign in to disble this ad
Does anyone know the actual weight savings between a Badass II bridge and a standard Fender bridge and between Highway 1 tuners and Hipshot ultralites? I'm trying to shave 1/2 pound off my bass weight and these seem the only options?

the bridge will make a barely noticeable difference, while lightweight keys will make a big difference in balance, due to being out at the end of a long "lever arm" (the neck).

i would do both, so you got the weight savings without becoming neck-heavy. (the vintage threaded-rod bridge is my fave, lightweight but still rigid when strung right, and with the correct string spacing.)
