Hi, New to this so please bear with me...
Played a gig tonight.
During soundcheck, my amp sound cut out (power still on) - Amp is Ashdown MAG300 combo, 1 x15 speaker. After the cut out, the input register on the front of the amp showed that the signal was being recieved into the amp, just nothing coming through the output. Thought this was a bit strange, but as we were in a rush, asked one of the other bands playing if I could use their amp : An Old Trace Head through a new Hartke 4x10 cab. The band in question have a big reputation in UK as a LOUD band, so gear should be pretty damn hardy. however, 1 min into the set, same thing happened - amp remains on, but no sound coming out of the speakers. Later the main band tried a different head through the cab, and the cab is fine- not a blown speaker -but the Trace head is still not working. Somehow, my guitar has broken two amps in 2 minutes, not shorting the amps (both still light up) and in the case of the second amp, certainly not blowing the speaker.
I'm playing a Warwick Fortress MM through a Ibanez Phat Head pedal, so a pretty strong active output from my guitar, but surely not enough to blow 2 amps?
I'm pretty new to the whole game, so no idea what this could be - can anyone enlightne me?
