What bridge for Jazz bass V?

Hi all,

I was recently looking for a new bridge to go on my Fender 5 string bass. It is MIM. The bridge on it now is really cheap.

Keep in mind, the Badass bridges are not direct retrofits for the MIM V's.

I know, I am going to have to drill some holes for the bass to match the bridge, But i think its worth it.

The Badass 5 bridge came in today, already slotted it. Now for the fun fun part, Drilling holes to match the bass and putting that sucker in there

Its in!

Now, the sustain is crazy awesome. Added some weight though. I think its worth it because it is the best 5 string Jazz bass I have ever played. Here are some before and after pics.

before

after

Now I have 2 Badass bridges. They are AWESOME.

Kyle

I'm a nose hair from pulling the trigger on a Midnight Wine Jazz V, and I hate the stock Fender bridge. If you don't mind me askin', what did you pay for your BadAss V? Are there any out there that drop right in without drilling? And drilling aside, are there many options out there for replacement 5-er bridges?

UPDATE:
I did it!! It's a 2005 MIM Jazz Bass V. bstringkyle: How did the installation go? Was it pretty simple? require much drilling? I'm also looking at the Gotoh 205B-5/C. I have BadAss IIs on my 4-strings (Ric, Jazz, fretless Jazz) and a Gotoh 201 on my (4-string) Precision and I'm pretty happy with all of them. I'm specifically interested in achieving good sustain, and how the bridge is replaced (easy drop-in vs. drilling/routing). The BadAss is plenty more expensive, but not so much that if it's appreciably better I wouldn't pay the difference.
