What to do if....

The truss nut is stripping. If that is what it's called. What I mean is where you insert the allen wrench to adjust the neck. The one on my Korean Fender gets harder to adjust each time. Is there a simple solution?

Are you using the same allen wrench? The wrench might be faulty (slightly smaller than it should be, causing it to strip). I don't know if you can replace the rod/nut, though...

You can fill the hole with solder or something like Aluminum sealant and then put a new hole in it.

Best way is to order a new one. it's not that hard to replace. Take all the strings off the bass, unscrew the old nut, and screw the old one in. Maybe try and remember the number of turns from being snug and do a bit less to get near the same relief point.

Your post poses some problems in understanding just what the trouble is...

"The truss nut is stripping" - This is generally understood to be where the threads in the nut have been damaged to the point that they no longer thread onto the end of the TR. If they are that damaged, you should be able to turn the nut very easily.

"The one on my Korean Fender gets harder to adjust each time." - Your reference to "the one" says to me that the TR nut gets more difficult to turn each time. If the TR nut is hard to turn, then it has bottomed out on the threads of the TR. That means there is no more adjustment available.

So you've described to opposing conditions with these statements. There is a third possibility and that's where the socket for the TR wrench has rounded out, keeping you from being able to engage the wrench with the nut. You didn't say this but it's a common occurence. A fourth possibility is that your TR has been adjusted to it's max and the neck itself won't take any more. Unlikely to happen before one of the other two situations but one you should be aware of.

For the first condition (stripped nut), there isn't a solution except to get a new nut. This is the same solution for a rounded out wrench socket.

For the second situation (bottomed out nut), you might be able to remove the nut and put a couple of small washers over the TR and rethread the nut on. This will move the nut back on the threaded portion of the TR and give you a bit more room to adjust.

The fourth condition just requires a new neck.

Hope this helps
