What kind of paint should I use for bass?

Hey... I recently dropped my bass and theres this chip on the side... Anyways, I noticed that the paint is pretty thick and is like a layer... What kind of paint is this, I wanna use it to paint the chip.

If anything, it's several thin layers of paint, not just one thick one. Most likely it's a laquer based product. If you want to use the same paint, you'd have to sand the bass down, re primer it, and paint it. It's a very difficult job to do without prior experience. Even then, you might not be able to get the color to match up exactly. Not to mention, you would need a sprayer and compressor along with a paint booth (or a really dust free area) to spray the bass anyway.
