Just got this neck. What kind of tuners would fit without additional holes?

What is the diameter of the tuner holes? You should be able to measure and check the distance between holes, then order tuners - and as long as the bases of the tuners cover the existing holes, it really doesn't matter if you drill new ones.

Actually, the neck is in the mail, so I'll have to wait.

Good call though. Any idea what tuners already use that hole pattern? I can certainly drill new ones, dowel the old ones, etc., but just want to see what is already out there.

Those holes look like the old Schaller setup from the eighties. They were used by Modulus among others. I see them on eBay from time to time and they don't bring a lot. Good tuners but kind of heavy. I believe I'd go with the hole filling notion...

Good advice. I have some hipshot ultralights on the neck that I'm selling and I love them-- but they're black and I need chrome/silver for the new neck. Maybe I'll look for a new/used set.

I'm hip to asking what that neck is. It looks of a nice grade maple... The Schallers used those two holes for the back- no screws there and the front had the screw down ferrules. Another excellent example of German craftsmanship and design!!

i don't think so.

the indentation pattern is barely bigger than the hole itself.

i'm thinking some kind of modern ultralight key with the little body but the big full-size shaft, like a hipshot or whatever the current fender american standards are using.
