What Necks will fit a squire vintage modified P-bass?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey Guys

My Vintage Modified Squier P-bass has been beaten up,

The truss rod for some reason un-known to me has broken and the neck is damaged, which was a real shame as the rosewood finger board was a fantastic cut! so beautiful =(, any way i spoke to fender/ Squier who told me they can't do a new neck of the same model as they were limited stock and the few spares they had were faulty

anyway that was 3 weeks ago, so i want to ask does anyone know what neck will fit?

Also can anyone recommend a new bridge?

The bridge is cracked,

would a fender standard series P-bass neck work? or something like it? and i was looking at a hipshot A bridge

I would Buy a new bass, but i have no money i just bought an Ampeg SVT 2 Pro and a Yamaha Attitude LTD II

hence the lack of money

also in the UK parts are hard to come buy especially in scotland! more specifically! ABERDEEN

all my other basses are out the country and i need them their for specific reasons (don't bother asking i won't tell you, keep on the subject)

I want an All maple neck preferably and i don't care much about the bridge

So Please help me! i have a serious gig in September and i don't want to use the attitude the whole set

Regards
Adam

As far as I know, Allparts necks will fit a Squier. Bear in mind though, they are quite costly. You might be better off just buying another Squier. I'm sure you could pick one up off eBay for not much more than the cost of an Allparts neck.

As for the bridge, try a Gotoh 201. Very nice bridges, much better than the stock Fender type but not too expensive. You'll probably find one easily on eBay. Gotoh 201 is a direct replacement for the Fender standard "we made this wonderful piece of hardware from old baked bean cans" bridge. It looks like this:

Another direct replacement is the Badass II. Again, it's costly.

I stuck a Mighty Might Neck (Lic by Fender) on my VM P. The neck joint has a 2-3mm gap on both sides. Other than that, it is fine.
