What site do you recommend for buying Fender bass parts

Sign in to disble this ad
In your experience, what is the "best" place (cost, shipping speed, customer service, etc.) to buy parts for Fender basses?

I'm asking about online sites only--not local shops.

Thanks for your help.

Don't know if they're the "best", but I've ordered from them before and it all went well.

+1 on guitarpartsresource.com. I've only ordered a nut and a couple of tuners, but everything went flawless, and I had my stuff in a couple of days. Quick and easy.

Awesome! All this help from you folks and I order the wrong parts anyway.
Well, I don't think a return/exchange will be a problem.

When that happens to me, I just go looking for a neck and body to match the errant parts.

Have ordered from them twice. No problems and delivery is quite quick. Postal rates across the line to me in Canada are a bit killer, but that's the way it is.

But a heads up, they are not so hot on customer service as far as replying to your questions, Especially when asking them about a return/exchange of purchased parts-no reply after 4 emails. Maybe they were just real busy, or I just smell real bad.

Well, the parts are still new/unopened and I said as much in my Return Authorization request. If they don't respond to my satisfaction, I'll just sell the parts.

I've gotten a wrong order from them and 0 response regarding my need to return. That was a couple years ago. I've done business since because their prices are decent and shipping is cheap and fast.

Sounds like they like to sell the parts but not to help customers with mistakes. I guess that means that if I deal with them in the future, I'll have to pay close attention and be very careful not to make any mistakes.

Yes, BBP is where I will make my next purchase for their mounted Area J's. Prices are also very reasonable. But they have fewer "bits and pieces" type of parts.

ALSO, look here www.buzzardsbass.com I sent him a question and immediately got a very practical, knowledgeable and easy going no bull$hit style of reply. Name is Brian Cornwell. Check out the site and give him a shout. He has everything you'll ever need.

Not too cool

Well, guitarpartsresource actually did respond to my request for a Return Authorization for the 2 pots that I bought.

This is what they said:
"We do not take back electrical components. Very sorry.

JB"

Understandable, I guess, but maybe they could make that info a little easier to see on their website. After all, they sell ELECTRIC guitar and bass parts! Sounds a little shady to me.
Well, I won't ever buy anything from there again.

Guess I'll put 'em on eBay since I don't need 'em. There's no way I'll recoup my loss since I paid shipping too.

Well, I guess I've been lucky so far. no problems yet, haven't needed to use customer service with them. I suppose I'll just have to be extra careful when ordering from them. That, and try some of the other sites reccomended here.

A few months ago, I ordered a MM bridge pickup from basspartsresources . They sent me a MM bridge. I called them, the problem was taken care of quickly and they even let me keep the bridge. Aside from that, I've placed a few other orders with them with no problems.

LOL, that's what I thought to!

That would be about the last place I would order from online...a dude that disappears with people's money and moves thousands of miles away without a word to his customers.
