What size allen wrench for Fender Jazz bridge?

Sign in to disble this ad
I need to pick up a hex key so I can adjust the height of the saddles on my Fender Jazz bass. It's the original Fender bridge. Just not sure of the exact size and don't want to risk taking a screw out to take with me.

You're close, but not quite right.

You need to pick up a complete set of good quality Metric hex keys, and another good set of SAE hex keys. Buying individual wrenches is the most expensive way to go, and almost guarantees you won't have the one you need. Buy sets so you have a respectable and function tool kit.

I just finished adjusting the saddles on a new Bronco with a 2MM wrench. I can't guarantee that's right for a Jazz, but I'm sure someone else will join in.

Allen Wrench sizes for the Jazz bass

You will need a 1/16" size allen key to adjust the strings up and down and a 3/16" size key for the truss rod. To move the bridge assembly forward and backward, you can try the 3/16" key as this appears to work on my 2008 model American Standard Jazz Bass.
