I have a 1970's Epiphone MIJ Bass. I searched and couldn't find much.

I don't know, but probably 5mm as that seems to be a pretty standard size for a lot of Japanese instruments. Or, go to a hardware store and get a set of metric allen keys. You'll find uses for most of them at some time and it's an inexpensive investment.
