What size wrench do I need to lower my strings?

Sign in to disble this ad
I bought a Fender American Precision Special yesterday (yeah! ) and I'd like to lower the strings a bit. However, the wrench I normally used on my old Squier, a 1.5 mm one, doesn't fit on my new bass. Do I need a 1 mm now? Or something else? The bridge on my new bass is a Badass II btw.

Thanks in advance,
Nanne

I only know this because I did exactly the same thing only last week.

What you need is a 0.05 inch Allen wrench.

Good luck.

0.050" is correct for the bridge saddles on a BadAss2. Did the bass come new with a BadAss2 bridge? If so, I'm surprised there wasn't one in the package with the owner's manual and truss rod wrench.

The reason I ask is that the only bass I ever bought with a BadAss 2 bridge stock from the factory was a Highway One, and Fender supplied the appropriate wrench.

Thanks for the replies! I guess I'll go looking for a 0,05 inch then.

I bought the bass second hand, so I guess that's why I didn't got a wrench with it.

Buy a "roadie wrench" at your nearest guitar shop. It has diffent size allen's, screw drivers, string cutters all in one package.
