First, WHY are you bumping your own post three times in less than 30 minutes?
Good heavens, give it at least 12 hours before you worry about it.
Second, please be specific. Are the cracks in a pickguard, OR is the jack mounted directly in the wood of the instrument, and therefore when pulled upon it created finish cracks? (Sounds like this is the case.)
Thirs, please tell us the make and model of the bass, and whether the finish is clear or solid color. This in turn will help us figure out what finish material you have - and repair procedures depend on the material used to finish the bass.
If it's a clear lacquer finish, there is potential to repair the cracks if there's no wood damage - but I'm betting there is. I can't imagine a jack being pulled on hard enough to sauce finish cracking without damage to the wood around the jack. If the surface finish is a solid color poly, then it would probably take an even bigger big impact to deform the surface and I'd bet that wood repair will come first.
My best guess: since many basses are finished with poly now, my bet is that the most cost-effective process will be to repair any wood damage, live with the finish cracks, buy cables with a 90-degree plug to connect to the bass, and make it a practice to ALWAYS loop your cable through the strap to prevent this from happening again.
Depending on the finish material and the color, the option may be to do a complete refinish...which may not be worth it to you. You can do a refin (
