what tuning keys for SX bass?

Sign in to disble this ad
Howdy to all,
I am slowly working on a "frankenbass' build here and I am using a short scale jazz neck i purchased new from Rhondo. I have a spare set of fender style tuning keys here but they and the ferrules are to small. The key holes in the SX neck are 11/16. Seems every time i find a sharp looking and decent quality set of tuning keys at a good price they are either for 9/16 or even 7/16 holes...or worse still, no size is given.
What keys are you guys and gals using as replacements on your SX basses? I know that has been mentioned as one of the things that is recommended as an upgrade but lol, I don't even have ones in there to replace

Thanks

you could fill in the holes then drill new ones for the tuners you like.

I believe the mexican fenders come with different tuning pegs (and i believe that is the size u're looking for). If i am right u could go with the Hipshot HB7 wich are direct replacing for the mexican fenders...

P.D: hipshot have all kinds of measurements on their site!
