Below is a picture of a neck I bought off a fellow TB'er. I am curious as to what type of wood the fingerboard is and what if any oil/finish should i put on it?

Hard to tell exactly what it is. Doesn't matter. If it's unfinished, give it a coat of mineral oil, let it soak in, wipe up the excess. Do that a couple times a year.

Unless of course you want to put a hard finish on it. There are many different things to use for that.

I'd just use the mineral oil. It'll bring out the grain and prevent the wood from drying out.

That's exactly what I am looking for. I just want to protect it the way it is and with the oil I am sure it will darken it a bit and look amazing.

Any kind of mineral oil? Or any kind of mineral oil is fine?

The only stuff I'll use on fretboards is dunlop deep conditioner. I dont like mineral oil nor lemon oil. Heard to many bad things about its use over time from high price furniture makers etc.

Looks like it says Washburn on headstock. Probably rosewood.

I went to one of the local guitar shops today looking for a few things and they happened to carry the Dunlop Deep conditioner. Picked it up and treated the neck. It looks so much better now.

Hard to tell in this picture but it is darker, much better.

Probably maple/rosewood. Very common setup. Why did you not consult the seller about the wood type?

The type of wood was not mentioned when I bought the neck and it wasn't all that important to me at that point. I was mostly curious.

Personally, I like a couple of light coats of tung oil on rosewood.
