When to adjust the truss rod?

So I'm dropping the tuning on my bass from drop C# to plain drop C.
I'm putting on heavier gauge strings and I'm curious if I should set the bass the day I put the new strings on, or to wait a day or two?

Of course adjust the truss rod if needed when you put on diff strings then it had. Therres absolutely no reason to wait a day or two. That simply equals haveing instrument thats in need of truss rod adjustment for a day or two. Which makes no sense at all.
