Where to find tuners for Fender Lyte bass?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello, I just got a Fender Jazz Bass Special from Japan. It didn't come with any hardware, pickups or electronics, just the neck and body. I think this bass was marketed as the Fender "Lyte" in the US, but mine just says Jazz Bass Special (1989-89 or so according to the Fender site). I'm pretty sure they're the same thing anyway as mine looks like some Lytes on eBay, including the smaller body.

I tried putting in some standard Gotoh GB7 tuners but they were too big to fit in the holes. It appears the Lytes selling on eBay all had Gotoh tuners, but with a different shaped key than the GB7s. The Lyte versions were more rectangular. Here is a pic of the tuners I'm looking for from an auction on eBay:

I tried Googling for Gotoh tuners but I couldn't find any that looked like the ones from the eBay auction. Looked on allparts, stew-mac, warmoth, etc...No luck.

Aside from the tuners, does anyone have any recommendations on replacement pickups (the bass has 4 control holes, so I'd probably go with an active preamp) and a bridge that would be good for this bass? I saw someone on here said Seymour Duncans were what Carol Kaye used for her Lytes. Any others? Maybe Badass II for the bridge?
Thanks for any help/suggestions!
